History of cycling on the island of Bali starting from 1900s  Cyclists W.O.J.    Nieuwenkamp , he is a Dutch citizen. He cycled around the island of Bali . Historical  evidence can be seen in the temple in the village of Maduwe Karang Temple –  Kubutambahan – Buleleng , in the form of wall carvings at one side of the main temple  building. Carving cycling is shaped portrait artist in the early 1900s. The wall carvings  are now used as the logo of Bali Audax.

Bali Audax
is long distance sport cycling tourism,  a cycling group at a steady pace set by a group leader (captain). Cycling  group will maintain the speed of 22.5km/h. Pre-planned route with stops . For audax  events spend between 10 and14  hours in a day before the final stop. The purpose of  audax is to finish within the time limit specified by all members of the group present. Support vehicles are allowed to participate in any group cycling .
Bali Cycling Operator and Bali Cycling Federations  collaboration premises will execute the Bali Audax. Bali Audax is a cycling program surround the island at a distance of about 400 km over two days . The participants should have a good cycling capability by using a decent bike wear. Implementation began at  06:00 from Jimbaran Kuta to Tabanan continued to Gilimanuk and ends at Lovina. Next day,  07:00  From Lovina to Tulamben to Candidasa to Denpasar and finis at Jimbaran Kuta.

Bali Audax Participants

Bali Audax  Participants come from Indonesian citizen and foreign citizen with good cycling skills and all participants must understand and adhere to the Rules Bali Audax.

The purpose of Bali Audax

Popularizing sport bike , increasing the sense love of earth and enhance sports tourism industry. With the implementation of the Bali Audax expected use of bicycles as a means of transportation and sport is becoming more popular and lasting impact on nature .
